TaeHun has $6. Yujin became a burglar and stole 4 times the amount he has at the end of the day. Then, TaeHun decided to be nice and give half of his remaning money to Yujin. How much does he have now?
The part about the burglar and stealing was humorous, but the variable was sort of unclear the first time, because "the amount he has now" might refer to something else, such as the $6 that he had at first. Even though, this should be easy to represent visually and is quick and simple to understand.
The wording would be better without the 'end of the day' part, because it sounds like Taehun earned more money before Yujin robbed him. Also, the "= y " part wasn't in the story. But the story was creative and easy to understand!
Tae Hun was walking down the street with $6 in his pocket. Then Yujin pick-pocketed 4 times the amount of money he has now. Later on, Tae Hun dropped half of the money he has left into the sewer. When he stopped walking to rest for a while, he noticed that he didn't have the same amount of money in his pocket as before. How much money does Tae Hun have now?
