The story is okay. The story is creative and original. However, instead of using y, you should use " a certain number " so the story flows more smoothly. For "What is y?", you should change it to "How many famished people were there?"

The equation that you guys thought of was kind of hart to understand, so maybe you could organize the wordings in a better way. The last part of the question was complex- Y amount of famished people equals to the amount of slices each family member got for dinner. But overall, you made it simple and straight forward, so it was good :)

The story is creative and entertaining. However, we thought the equation was 9/7 - 2y = y, so the wording should change on the second sentence.
