Almost there!

One chapter left. One quiz left. Then the final. You're almost there!

1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.

2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?

3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?

(You must answer all questions thoroughly to receive all points on this assignment. Remember, lame answer = lame grade.)

  1. 1. The three adjectives to describe my feeling are less stressful, anticipated, and relieved.
    2. You have to study beforehand and get ready for every subject before school's Day 1.
    3. I will work hard and faithfully and the two things that I am hoping to change for my 9th grade year is my maturity and having more respect for others.

  2. 1. The three adjectives to describe my feeling are excited, tired and reluctant.
    2. If I was to give advice to the upcoming 7th graders, it would be solving many many questions continuously. I think solving problems is the only way to improve your math skills.
    3. I will work hard until the end; If I give up just because I am tired and because it is the end of the year, it is unofficial. Two things I will do differently are first, doing my homework on the day it is assigned, and second studying the C steps in the math textbook so I could get the bonus questions correct.

  3. I think, if I were to describe how I am feeling, I would use the adjectives: tired, bored, and hopeful. Tired because of all of the work I've done, bored because the year seems like it will never end, and hopeful in the fact that the year will end some day.

If I were to give some advice to upcoming 7th graders (I am in seventh grade, though), then I would tell them to 1) buy graph paper, 2) always have an eraser and extra lead on a test, and 3) try to buy another copy of the Algebra textbook so you don't have to lug the heavy book back and forth between school and home.

I'll probably work hard until the end. Heck, I already spent like eight months out of nine. It's true that the last few weeks are going to be hectic due to finals and all. This year, we'll take finals unlike just having a big project like sixth grade. It's sort of easier, I think, because projects can sometimes slip away fast and fall into disrepair, but tests you can never miss. You just have to notice that test and start preparing for it. Also, I think that I will try making study guides this year. It would help me study, and it would also help my classmates. I can also sell the study guides for money if I want, so I can get some spare change.

  4. 1. I feel relieved, apprehensive, and surprised. I a relieved because the year is almost over; I am apprehensive because I don't know how I will do in 9th grade, and I am surprised that I actually made it through 8th grade.

    2. My advice to the 7th graders is that if you want to improve, there is no other way than to practice. Simply looking at the explanations will not improve your skills.

    3. I will work hard until the end of the year, because it's a waste of effort I put in all year if I decide to give up now. The two things I will do differently are not cramming, and looking over my past tests to help me study.

  5. 1. The three adjectives are:tired, excited, puzzled(the year has gone by so quickly..)
    2. My advice is to buy one more textbook to leave at home because the textbook is really heavy so I always rushed through my homework to finish it in school, and I didn't make use of it when studying for a test or quiz.
    3. I will work hard until the end(I don’t think anybody will say that they will give up..) and I will use my notebook more neatly and solve a few questions that I thought were difficult again before the final test and quiz.

  6. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
My three adjectives are proud, scared, and relieved. I'm proud that I got through this year without any huge problems and I'm scared to go on to high school because I know it's going to be much harsh there. I also feel relieved that I'm finally over and done with eighth grade math course.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
I would tell the 7th graders that taking notes during class is quite important because it helps you study for a test later on. Also, they should keep their quizzes and test so that they can prepare for the final.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
Yes I will work hard until the end because it is the right thing to do. What I would do differently is that I would preview and review everyday, and try to finish my homework faster.

  7. Three adjectives I would use are glad, satisfied, determined. I am glad that the year is almost over and the summer break is upcoming. I am satisfied because I have met my goal of a higher GPA than last semester. I am determined to finish the year with good grades and good grades for finals.

My only warnings would be to always pay attention in class because the teacher, Mr. Jobe and the classwork participations are the best tools you will have to study for tests and chapters. Practice makes perfect so you should use what you have learnt in class to prepare for the next class or review over the previous class.

I wil try to work hard and achieve a good grade for mathematics, Algebra. I want this because last semester my GPA was not very high. However, this semester, I am having a good GPA and wish to keep it or even increase it to a significant level. Two things I will do differently is to ask my mom for more help and ask her to teach me a bit of things we have learnt throughout the year. Another thing is I am going to try and do all of the chapter or test reviews in the textbook for practice.

  8. 1) Three adjectives to describe how I am feeling: Excited, worried, tired.
I'm excited because the year is ending and we can relax when middle school is over. Worried because the final might be difficult. And tired because we have gone through a big year in algebra.

    2) Some advices (warnings) that I can give is that the future 8th graders (current 7th graders) should pay good attention to class. Also it would be nice to solve 4~5 problems that are difficult in that section or chapter to understand the full concept of the chapter. Reviewing back to previous classes would be a good benefit for the future 8th graders.

    3) I will work hard until the end because if I just give up because it's the end of the year, that would be no use of studying until now. Two things that I will do differently is to finish my homework as fast as possible. This is for increasing my speed when I am taking a test. Also I would try my best on home-works or reviews by not getting any help. This will help me understand the question fully. When I get help from others, I will just write down the answer which would be no use to my learning skills.

  9. 1. Three adjectives that I would use are Splendid, satisfied, and fantastic.

    2. My advice is to do all the homework that Mr. Jobe gives because all the questions on the test are identical with the questions on the textbook. Never copy friend's homework!!!! Also, circle the questions that you are not sure and go over them again before the test. The most important thing is to pay attention in class.

    3. For sure I will work hard because I'm having fun with math these days. Two things that I will do different is that I will ask more questions and write more neatly.

  10. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
The adjectives to describe my feeling are exhausted, grateful, and nervous.

If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
I would advice the upcoming 7th graders to always do the homework and put their best effort into it. Also, continuously solve related math problems to practice.

Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will work hard until the end. Meeting with Mr. Jobe when I don’t know a question and working on my homework problems that I got wrong.

  11. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
My 3 adjectives to describing my current feelings would be uncertain, exhausted, and irresistible.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
Never miss classes, and always ask questions that you have ASAP, because if you don't you will be unconfident about the upcoming lessons. Take notes for every lesson, so you don't forget important information.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will work efficiently, by gathering all my previous tests and quizes to use them as studying materials for the big final. After I do this, I will look back at my notes that I took from your lessons, and then review what I have forgotten.

  12. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
Three adjectives that would describe how I'm feeling are excited, stunned, and accomplished. I feel excited since I know there's only like a month left of school and then it'll be summer vacation which means no school, no homework, and no tests!!! I'm stunned since I just remembered finals are coming up soon and I totally forgot about them. I feel accomplished since I managed to improve my math grade a lot this semester and I'm happy with my results.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
One good thing to do would be to take notes of everything that you think would be important. Even if the teacher doesn't ask you to write it down, it's still better to write more than to write less. Notes are also a good to use when you are preparing for an upcoming math test. Also, you should come prepared to class and bring all your materials. Asking questions about anything you are unsure of is good since it might be too late to ask later on.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will work hard until the end. If I start slacking off now, even if it's just a little bit, my grades might drop and I'll be sad and disappointed in myself when report cards are sent home at the end of the year. One thing I will do is to practice math more often. This will allow me to finish problems faster and understand how to do them more. Another thing I will do is to ask Mr. Jobe on anything I don't understand to make sure that I'll know how to do everything on the tests.

  13. If I were to describe how I am feeling right now, I would use the adjectives carefree, scared, and satisfied. I feel free because there's not a lot of pressure towards the end of the year, we’ve almost made it through the year, and plus, and it's getting really nice outside. I feel scared because I don’t really want to leave middle school and continue onto high school, where things will be much harder. I feel satisfied because I made it through this year.

    2. My best advice to give towards 7th graders is to use the class time allowed in math to do your homework, if you're lucky to have time. That way, you can ask questions directly to the teacher and you don't have to carry the textbook home. Do the challenge problems on the section because some of the problems may appear on the test and remember to ask questions even if you're not sure about a concept.

    3. I think I'll work hard because grades could still count at this point, it's also better to work hard to prepare for next year. I would like to end this year on a good note, so I'll keep working hard on the end, even if I feel like slacking off because the year's almost over.

  14. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
I think I am feeling tired (long year...), regretful (should've studied more...), and nervous (for finals + 9th grade!)

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
To the new 8th graders, I would advise them to ask questions before they get too far behind and to listen in class to prevent getting lost. Also, I think doing the Pizzazz worksheets (even though they're optional) will really help you practice for a test or quiz.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I think I really have to work hard, because if I don't, I'll regret it...especially because I've worked so hard, and to mess it up towards the end is such a waste. I think I will review homework, to study for the finals, and take notes in class so that I don't get confused at home. I think this will help me get to the very end of this year.

  15. 1. thrilled(for summer break), tired and lazy (for finishing my works)
    2. I would want to tell the upcoming 7th graders to practice solving a lot of problems. Practicing solving problems is the best way to study. Also, another copy of the algebra textbook would be very helpful because carrying the textbook to home and back to school is a hard job. Lastly, I would want to warn them that they should always have their graph paper with them just in case.
    3. I would work harder until the end and not give up. Even though I became very lazy and tired of finishing my works, I need to get in a habit of doing my works without giving for next year in high school. I would review my tests and quizzes more often so I would be able to recognize my mistakes and fix them. I would also try hard to ask more questions to Mr. Jobe when I don't know how to solve the problem.

  16. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
    - The three adjectives that describes how I am feeling are relieved, tired, and worried. I feel relieved because the school is almost over. However, I am tired of all the things we worked on so far. I am worried about the finals that is coming up.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
    - To the upcoming 7th graders, I would advice them to finish their homework as much as they possibly can during class. It gives you more opportunity to do other things. I would also encourage them to do the Pizzazz worksheet to get a bonus mark.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
    - I would definitely have to work hard. I am not only going to be responsible and do all of my homework, but also going to review a lot before any tests or quizzes.

  17. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
-> 3 adjectives that describes how I am currently feeling would be calm, relieved, and eager. I am eager because the vacation is just around the corner.

2.If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
->I would tell them that doing HW is more than beneficial to their HW grade, because HW is its own way of studying for a test.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
    - I will work hard until the end and maybe even run the extra mile, because I learned that all that are successful are people that have worked very hard. 2 things that I'd do differently is that I would've worked even harder and I would have done extra studying that covers the criteria that I'm currently learning to ensure an A+ on the test.

  18. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.

I feel tired, excited, and relaxed. I feel like this because I am tired from work, excited since school is ending, and relaxed because it is vacation soon.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?

I would tell them that they would need to work hard and keep up with all of the work.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?

I will work hard until the end because I need to raise my grade since they got low when the quarter started. I will do hard with all my effort. I have few weeks left, so I won't be lazy and I will do all of my work.
