1. The tests were not that challenging. More complex long problems would make the test more challenging. For example, |-3+2-4/2x5/6|-3x+2\4(5+23)

ReplyDelete- The tests have been somewhat easy, but only because we reviewed the question formats in class and practiced in class and did a review game in class and also took a pre-assessment in class so we knew what we were up against from the moment we saw the pre-assessments.

- Yes, because we had review games and also projects and videos to help us memorize properties.

- My favorite part is actually being in the class and being part of it. My least favorite part is homework.

1. I think the tests were handy for me. It wasn't very challenging, since I have been reviewing the lessons after each class. However, if I had to pick one thing that was reasonably challenging was writing an equation. I sometimes get confused writing an equation and end up writing a wrong one.

1. I feel that the tests have been normal, because some questions take a lot of time and needs concentration. The types of questions with a lot of calculating would make it more challanging

1. Yes, they were reasonably challenging. There were a lot of calculations involved, and usually I make many small mistakes on calculation so they were challenging.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, because we went over key concepts in class and also had adequate in-class practice. Also, the review games helped in preparing for the tests.
3. My favorite part of math class is the review games and my least favorite part is long classwork assignments.
4. It might be a good idea to spend some time on more challenging word problems so we will be prepared for the word problems on the tests.

ReplyDelete1. I think the tests are decent and reasonably challenging. Mr Jobe made the test so there were both easy parts, average parts, and some difficult parts. I especially find the word problems sometimes difficult. Not only do you have to write equations, but the question itself is sometimes hard to understand.
ReplyDelete2. I think that Mr. Jobe used a lot of creative ways to prepare the class for the tests. For example, he used review games which are more interesting and fun to do then solve problems all day. I think we also learnt more by watching the videos and learning in a fun way.
3. I think that everything in math is my favorite part. Mr. Jobe makes the class fun and even just solving problems is quite fun.
4. I think that Mr. Jobe is doing a good job already. Math is fun but we still learn a lot of new things that are hard to learn in a more easier way. If math class goes the way just like now, it is a good class.
1. The tests were not that challenging, but they were not a piece of cake either. There were some calculation problems that were really easy to do, since we solved some of them in class, and other problems which were tricky to solve with a lot of parentheses and negatives.

3. My favorite part of this math class was when we paired up into groups for classwork or a review game. It makes working a lot more efficient and fun because we are working with someone. My least favorite part of the class was taking the test.
4. We can have more opportunities for a project than a test. That way, we can learn math not just by studying for an exam, but apply it to real-life examples
1.) Yes the tests seem to be reasonably challenging considering that we have a fair amount of warning before the tests to prepare.

3.) My favorite part about math is partnering up and doing classwork because then we can help each other as we work. My least favorite part about math is homework, obviously.
4.) My suggestions for this class is doing more review games because that helps us recap on the entire unit before taking the test. Also, because I like candy. :)

ReplyDeleteI think the chapter 1 test was a little bit hard. But the chapter 2 test was pretty easy. Some questions were tricky because of the word problems that I have trouble in. Also since the test got shorter this time, I had the time of finishing in time. In 7th grade, I was rushing through the last part because the test was too long but in 8th grade I had enough time.

Yes, I think I have been adequately prepare for these tests by Mr. Jobe because we had plenty of time to study for the test and do review games to help me memorize the properties and formulas.
3. What has been your favorite part about math class so far? What has been your least favorite part?
The best part about math class is that Mr. Jobe's math class is organized and very "on time". Also unlike other math teachers in KIS, we play the review game before tests to help us on the test. One thing that I didn't really like about math class is that we are too fast than the other classes. Also we sometimes have a lot of homeworks.
4. What suggestions do you have to improve this class?
One way to improve this class is to review a lot and sometimes have hard problems for homework that we can study for.

1. This was a well constructed test, and it was quite challenging. The questions weren't too out of place, they were on everything that we've learned and reviewed.

3.My favorite part of math class is when we pair up into groups and work together to find an answer to a problem. What I didn't like was when when we take long notes in class, although we don't do that quite often.
4. Some ways to improve this class would be to have some fun with numbers. We could get into groups and try to solve a challenging number puzzle or a trick question that has something to do with arranging numbers. This could be helpful to this class because having a break time once in a while would be preferable.

3. My favorite part about math class was watching the property videos. The least favorite part was having to memorize them while solving questions. (But I really feel neutral about math.)
4. I would suggest to change the same book to the newer version because I heard that the American student's level got higher.(But I guess it is too late.)

1) yes they were challenging because there had been many word problems and problems that make me confused. I had some trouble with the negative signs and absolute values
